Shichisei no Subaru – Anime Review
Shichisei no Subaru (Seven Senses of the Re’Union). Oh what do I say. You know what I don’t even want to waste my time writing this because even thinking about this show makes me want to die.
I’m not even going to put a disclaimer in here because anyone, and I mean ANYONE, that likes this show needs to watch something better. I mean for
Also keep in mind that I am a huge SAO fan.
Okay
My Anime List Synopsis
Asahi’s life in reality ended simultaneously when she died playing Union, a world-renowned online RPG. The members of Subaru went separate ways when Union shut down due to Asahi’s death. Six years later, Haruto logs onto a renewed version of Re’Union and reunites with Asahi who had died. Is it really her or just an electronic ghost? The former team members reunite and enter the mysterious and deadly online game to find out.
Story: 3/10
Grade schoolers? Are you kidding me? Grade schoolers?! The story of SNS is simplistic. Main Character miraculously makes up with friends and tries to find out how dead friend is not-so-dead. That’s it, nothing else to it. The show’s attempt to be a blatant ripoff from the success of SAO is half a decade too late, many shows have tried, and many have failed, some have succeeded (Overlord, Log Horizon) but none have failed as much as this one. My biggest issue is the first episode, we get a short, meaningless introduction to the world and our main cast. Then they try to make us board the feels train when Asahi dies, and they fail big time. Hmmm a young girl dying in real life after she dies in a virtual game…. sounds familiar. Oh yeah that’s right! Sachi in SAO, well at least that death hurt and held some meaning. Asahi’s death felt forced and kind of misplaced as well as irrelevant despite it being the beginning of the whole story. The rest of the story doesn’t get any better.
Characters: 0/10
Okay

Sound: 6/10
Hey! Something decent! Then again it’s hard to find a show these days without a good score. The soundtrack is soft and mellowing and the OP and Ending are okay at best. That’s all I’m going to say.
Animation: 7/10
Fight scenes are dynamic, yet they lack tension and interest because the characters and world are heavily flawed. Artwork looks lovely and vibrant. The animation studio is too good for this show.
Enjoyment: 1/10
I got bored of this show withing the first SEVEN minutes of the first episode. Seven Senses of the Re’Union? More like seven minutes till boredom.
Final Verdict:
I don’t think this segment is required. It’s a rubbish show. Don’t watch it unless you want to mentally torture yourself. Actually, go watch The Room instead. This show is an insult to the amazing genre that Reki Kawahara created.
Shichisei No Subaru: E Class
Side Note: After I finished writing the review I felt kinda bad for hating on the show so much and I still do, however, I believe my arguments are valid and I’m keeping them the same despite how terrible I feel right now.
