Angels Fall First – Game Review

Yeah, I’m not dead even though I haven’t posted anything in over 12 days. More reviews will be out soon for This War of Mine, Destiny 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (which might be written by our favorite weeb Aviraj).

Angels Fall First is a multiplayer first-person shooter based on vehicular and ground-based combat in the void of space. The game is very unpolished and all server’s for the game is relatively dead. I had high hopes for angel’s fall first when I first got the game, however, upon actually playing the game, my expectations were crushed to a pulp, proceeded to be burnt, then with the charred pulp, ground into fine dust. Needless for me to say, this game was a huge disappointment.

The gameplay, in my opinion, is very lackluster. This may just be me, but I had no idea what was going on half the time and there was no tutorial to actually explain it (as far as I know at least). I’ve had enough of trying to understand the game, not to mention, that it crashed twice for me in the times I’ve played it. Furthermore, I feel like I’ve played the game enough to get a handle on what’s going on. When it comes to multiplayer, Angels Fall First is dead, a lot like a game I liked called Cold Space which was also plagued by dead servers. Furthermore, this game has the same planetside feel, that is, it is incredibly hectic and hard to follow most of the time.

Art is actually quite good in this game, it looks quite nice. If I was solely basing this on art I would maybe give it a 7/10 touching an 8/10. The Ships, player models and other stuff looks polished and nice.

The performance of this game is utter censored bad-ness. I have a pretty good PC, however, the game still fails to run at a consistent FPS. This really annoys me and significantly reduces the games score in my eyes.

In conclusion, Angels Fall First is a game which had a lot of potential (its idea), however, it fails on so many fronts that it’s sad. The only redeeming quality, in my opinion, is its art style; all other aspects of the game are lackluster. Despite these flaws, I will revisit the game in around a year (maybe less) to see if it has improved in any way. As of right now, I think Angels Fall First deserves a 2/10 and at maximum a 3/10.

Final Score: 2/10

Plays way too many games and should probably sleep more.
